Surgery Update

Kaden's surgery went very well today. Everything went as expected. We did not find anything that would warrant another surgery thank goodness! Kaden today had 2 hernia's fixed, circumcision, ear tubes, opening of blocked tear duct, and a camera put down his throat to take a look. As the nurses said today he had the works done! He was such a trooper. He had to wake up at 5am and went into surgery at 7:30am. He was in surgery almost 3 hours. All the doctors were great and came out and gave us an update after they performed their part in the surgery, we had 3 doctors in the room. Afterwards Kaden was really sleepy till about 3:30 this afternoon. After that he started to wake up and play a little and talk. He is very sore so he really didn't want to move. He sat on the couch all day and played with us. It was some nice cuddling time!

One last note on Kaden's health. This past weekend we decided to start nebulizer treatments daily. Kaden has had a cough for 2 months. We have tried many things but nothing seems to be working. The nebulizer had made some improvements so far. We are hopeful this will help. We did find out today that Kaden does have some narrowing in his airways which could make him susceptible to Croup. Our ENT recommended we use the nebulizer which we had already started. However with his current cough he doesn't really fit all the symptoms of Croup b/c he doesn't have a fever, decrease of appetite, his oxygen score has been high, and nothing on chest x-rays so we are a little confused right now if this could be Croup or Asthma or neither. Either way the nebulizer should help.

Thanks for all your prayers for Kaden! He is recovering well and we are so thankful for that!

Hey Dana, Aaron & Kaden! How funny that we spend 3 weeks in Moscow together, our boys have the same jammies AND we both posted pictures of them in their Dino jammies on nearly the same day!

As they say, great minds think alike!

Anyway, I'm glad little Kaden is doing well. He's getting so big!
