2 Weeks Home

I can't believe we have been home over 2 weeks now. The time is just flying by. Kaden is doing so well. He has been such a trooper. We have gone on many outings to stores to see how he does, well he love Target. He talks up and down the aisles. It's so funny. We get so many comments about him. I'm so proud to say he is our son.

We had a Welcome Home party that our friends put on. It was so much fun. Kaden did well. He got tired towards the end so we left but he liked seeing everyone.

He is also teething right now. The 1 year molars have to be coming in soon. He started acting up Saturday night. Since then he has had the diaper rash, drooling like crazy, and a snotty nose (all signs of cutting teeth). He also just started a few days ago playing with a bottle when we give it to him. He likes to chew on the nipple between his gums, he never did this before he was so concerned with drinking the bottle down right away. Kaden has also decided he really does not like baby food very much. We still have some jars so we are trying to finish it, but he is really enjoying real food. However he still likes his formula which I'm thankful for. He is still eating all the time. I really hope at the next doctor appointment he has gained some weight!

This week we are going to see 2 specialists, the ENT & a surgeon. We decided to have Kaden circumcised and get his umbilical hernia fixed hopefully in August. There is a week with the daycare that we found that I will be home b/c of her vacation so we are going to try and get the surgery done then. We found a surgeon who can do both.

We also scheduled his 1 year pictures for Friday, hopefully he is feeling up for this otherwise we will reschedule.

He has been a very busy boy but very happy. We feel his attaching is going well. He is making good eye contact with us. He also looks for us when he is with someone else and we leave the room. Also this past week he looked up at me in his highchair and put his arms out to me and said mum mum. I'd like to think he really does know who mom is now. He has said mum mum many times to me. He also said it the other night when Aaron was trying to put him down for sleep since I was out with some of my girlfriends at a movie.

Father's Day was great! Dad and son got some good bonding time in. Kaden loves it when Aaron puts him in the laundry basket and swings him around like a roller coaster. He laughs so much and smiles the whole time! This is their activity they like to do together! I tried to get pictures of this but Kaden decided he was done just when I got the camera out, of course!

Kaden is also into trying to walk. He loves to hold on to your fingers and do laps around the living room. He also turned our laundry basket into a walker. He is getting better everyday. He will also stand now with just holding on with 1 hand. I think he will be walking in a few weeks but we'll see. Daddy also taught Kaden how to go up the 15 stairs we have. This is now another one of his favorite activities, funny how things that are not toys become the favorite things to kids.

The best thing about this week is Kaden turns 1 on June 22!! We are having a small family party on Saturday June 21st. We can’t wait to see how he reacts to everything.
