Trip 2 Day 9- Wednesday May 21st

Are you Red (Manchester United) or Blue (Chelsea FC), that was the question of the day in Moscow, of course in the best British accent you can do! The UEFA Championship game was in Moscow today! We decided to go to Red Square to check out all the pre-game festivities. The Champions Festival took place in Red Square. There was no drinking of smoking in Red Square so it wasn't too crazy. However the Pubs along the side and on the way were filled with people and of course you heard lots of chanting! We decided we would go with Red! We guessed right b/c Manchester United won in Penalty Kicks! Here are some pictures of the day.

The Trophy the teams are playing for! You could get your picture taken with it. There was a huge line of people waiting to do this.
We bought a Red scarf for Manchester United for Kaden's sports themed room. The front of it says the Manchester United and the back says Moscow Finals 2008! We thought this was a perfect addition to the room to capture the big event that happened in Moscow while we were there adopting him!

Fans dressed up!

Since Moscow was going to be very busy that night b/c the game did not start till 10:45pm, Ron invited us, Karyn & Norm, and Beck & Keith over for dinner. It was fabulous! He had cooked a pork roast, rice, beans, bread, and carrot cake. We ate so much food. Dinia you have a great cook on your hands! Ron did a great job of hosting. He kept on saying Dinia is normally the social organizer! You must have taught him very well b/c it has been such a pleasures having Ron show us around!
On Friday we find out our schedule for next week. We get the adoption decree on Tuesday May 27th. There are a lot of things that have to be done that day. We don't know yet if we will pick up Kaden on Tuesday or Wednesday, however Friday we will find out. Either way we have less than a week left before Kaden is our forever! Time has flown by here in Moscow. We are very glad we chose to wait the 10 days out here in Moscow.
